Yamaha Disklavier E3

The Yamaha Disklavier E3 is an upgrade to the highly regarded Disklavier Mark III piano that has proven to be a successful hybrid of an acoustic piano and a digital entertainment system. The Disklavier E3 is slimmer and more affordable than the Disklavier Mark IV, but it offers similar technological capabilities.

The Disklavier E3 is played like a traditional piano, and is quite traditional in its appearance, not to mention refined and stylish. However, the piano is actually a combination of a traditional instrument with highly advanced audio electronics.

It is outfitted with a CD drive, Yamaha SmartKey and CueTime software, internal memory storage, Internet Direct Connection (IDC), and genuine Yamaha amplified speakers.

By updating the software with the latest firmware updates, your Disklavier E3 can gain additional features and functions, such as being able to interact with a remote device such as an iPad or iPhone.

This model comes equipped not only with a CD drive but a number of special CDs. You can play these music CDs in the drive, and the piano will actively accompany the track that is being played. It is a great way to have in-home piano music without the need of a human pianist to operate the instrument.

While you will want to play piano pieces on your own, at other times you may wish to simply sit and relax while the piano performs music for you. his can also be used as a method for learning to play a new piece. You can run the CD, watch how the piano plays the track you want to learn, and even practice the same finger movements as the Disklavier E3 moves the keys automatically.

Another feature of this model is its ability to record playing sessions in the Disklavier E3's memory. It has enough digital memory storage to hold hundreds of hours of performances. The piano records the entirety of your playing activity, which means that it records not only your key strokes, but also your pedaling and dynamics. Each performance is stored as a MIDI file in the internal memory.

You can control playback, recording, and volume level with the remote control unit that comes with the Disklavier E3. You can now also use your iPhone, iPad, or iPod Touch to remotely control the instrument if your Yamaha Disklavier E3 is up to date on its firmware.
